28 Week Check-up

I went for my 28 week check up a few days ago and boy did it go fast. They said I had o be there for two hours! I didn't want to be there that long, little did i know they gave me lots to do during that time. Arrival was at 6:30 sharp, I wanted to be in and out and I had to fast so I definately wanted to finish as soon as possible. I got there, took my weight and blood pressure, they took my blood, I drank some sugary liquid and that's when the timer began. I have a midwife so they had DVDs for me to watch to pass time so I asked. Only watched it for 20 minutes before they wanted to see me again. We went over paper work, like what I will be doing during and after the baby is born. During that they checked my glucose again and after the nurse was finished they took it one last time. Time moved so fast, it didn't seem like I was there for that long. The whole process took 3 hours. Right after I was so excited to be able to eat. All I had was that sugary drink they gave me, which I did not like so much. The results came in the next day, which they said everything came back normal and fine. As a result, I did not have to monitor my glucose levels from that point until giving birth.
What a journey that I am on and I am so excited to know my baby is doing well and measuring around what he needs to. Let see what the following weeks bring. :-)

Pregnancy: 31 Weeks

Okay I am going to be very honest with you, I am totally terrified. I only have 9 more week, give or take a few, before my little boy is here and its exciting yet scary. I just wish natural birth was a little easier. I'm not so much as scared of having my baby boy in my arms as I am about the process. This makes me think, Do I want to have more kids? There are many reasons why I wanted a natural birth. My reasons: Freedom to move around as a please Freedom to give birth in water if I would like to. No pressure into pain meds Support from the people who are helping me deliver The smell of a hospital has never been appealing I didn't want any intervention because of the risks involved More calm setting as opposed to people going in and out the room (the are focused on me and only me) No pressure into fast delivery (giving my body the time it needs) etc I can go on and on about natural birth, but those are just some of the few. Also, I have thought about having a hospital birth without intervention, but knowing me I would be tempted to get drugs and also a lot of people do not have the options like I do. I would rather take a chance at those experiences than not. For the past few weeks I have been scared and its only getting deeper. Hopefully this will pass and I can believe in myself that I can do this.

Great Arm Exercises

These are some great tips on exercises that could help your arms. That is my problem area and I hope this helps you. Do these 5 exercises—some isolated, some compound—to build the biceps of your dreams. We recommend doing these exercises 2 to 3 times a week, allowing at least 48 hours of rest time between biceps workouts for maximum recovery and results. All of these moves can also be done with dumbbells, which can force you to put more emphasis on good form to keep each arm equal.

  1. Standing Curl: The standing curl is the foundation of a biceps-building routine. Start with feet together or with one foot in front and one foot in back if you need more stability. With your arms fully extended at your sides holding a barbell or dumbbell, keep your elbows tucked in close to your body, and slowly curl the weight(s) up. At the top of the curl, squeeze your biceps and slowly lower the weight(s) back down. Make sure to keep your elbows close to your body and don’t let them move at all during your rep.
Standing Curl
  1. Alternating Dumbbell Curl: Place your feet shoulder-width apart or stand with one foot in front and one foot in back. Begin the exercise with both arms extended at your sides, palms facing forward. Slowly curl one arm up to shoulder height and squeeze your biceps at the top. Slowly lower the dumbbell down and alternate arms. Make sure to keep your elbows close to your body and don’t let them move at all during your rep.
Alternating Dumbbell Curl
  1. Hammer Curl: Place your feet shoulder-width apart or stand with one foot in front and one foot in back. Begin the exercise with both arms extended at your sides, palms facing each other. While keeping your palms facing toward each other, slowly curl the arms up to shoulder height and squeeze your biceps at the top. Slowly lower the dumbbells back down. Make sure to keep your elbows close to your body and don’t let them move during your rep.
Hammer Curl
  1. Chin-Ups: This compound exercise works your biceps, latissimus dorsi, and abdominal muscles, among others. With your palms facing you, put your hands on a chin-up bar, shoulder-width apart, engage your lats, and pull your body up so that your chin goes over the bar. Lower yourself back down so that your arms are completely extended. Repeat. While doing a chin-up, make sure to keep your muscles engaged so that you don’t stress your skeletal structure and its connective tissues. If you cannot do a chin-up on your own, do not fret! Try using the P90X Chin-Up Max, which allows you to adjust the amount of support you get so you can work your way up to unassisted reps.
Chin-Ups
  1. Supinated Bent-Over Rows: The supinated bent-over row works the biceps, the latissimus dorsi, the hamstrings, and some of the muscles in the back. Start with your feet shoulder-width apart and your hands on a barbell or with a dumbbell in each hand, palms facing away from your body. Bend over so that you feel your hamstrings engage. Keep your back flat and chest expanded and pull the barbell into your body until it is just below your chest as if you were rowing. Lower the weight(s) back down and repeat.

Second Trimester

Late first and early second trimester BEACH FUN!

SYMPTOMS AND OVERVIEW
Going into my second trimester nothing has really changed much with symptoms. I noticed that my hips and back are in pain less during the night, and headaches come more frequently. I tried the different techniques she gave me to help with the pain, but they don't seem to be doing much (I am glad I can deal with it).
I can feel the baby more than usual....still feels weird, but I at least know there is movement and life. It use to feel like gas, but now when I have my arm or item in a certain spot my stomach moves. Hmmm I keep telling everyone it's an alien. :-)
EXERCISE
I tried exercising, you know the general walking, but it feels as though I am not doing enough and while I walk I tend to push extremely hard simply because I am use to Insanity workouts. I try to exercise when I have enough energy to do so, but it seems as though I never want to (which is weird for me). I clean every day and try to walk, but ultimately I need to get my body actively moving. Cleaning is something but id rather do something more, but walking is still a challenge since I would want to run or briskly walk. I will see how things so within these few weeks to see if I have enough energy to do something more (fingers crossed).

VISITS
My visits to the nurse is still once a month and we mainly just talk about concerns or anything that could help me for that particular month. This is the time I actually seen the sex of my baby HE made it very noticeable. I can't help but laugh at the fact that he kept showing me his ear (haha). The visit lasted about 30 or so minutes because they checked his measurements to see if he was up to speed, which he is and I also wanted to count how many fingers and toes he had, but only manage to get the fingers.

NEXT VISIT
I go in for a glucose testing where I believe they give me some liquid to drink and I wait like 2 hours or so to check and see if my body is breaking down the glucose. They said I could watch some videos while I am there so that's good (just have to make sure I have my laptop to watch them).

PLANS

I hope to take some maternity photos around 30 or so weeks (I am 26+2 now), and also my baby shower plans will be set sometime within the few weeks. We shall see.

Until next time,

I love Pitbulls

I love pit bulls and not many people give them credit. They are such sweet dogs. I have searched for a place where pit bulls dogs could live, but there aren't really any. I am a person who doesn't like big does at all. I cry especially if the dog's attention is on me, totally terrified. I met Precious for the first time two and a half years ago. It took me time to even pet her. She never barked, never growled, no noise at all, like she wasn't even a dog. After that, I was more calm and loving towards her. Now she is the dog I wish I had seen grow. Nothing bothers her, she won't bark, but she will play though. She knows a lot of commands and is very smart like lay down, shake, and sit. She is not a good guard dog though haha.
With that being said, people need to take into consideration that their are people out there that harm dogs and make them aggressive. Hey, I would be too if someone was so mean to me everyday. People make Pits angry, it is NOT the breed. I have put up videos of precious having fun not barking when people come around her on instagram. I just would like you to know that all pits are not bad and should not be shamed and put down because of the breed they are.
This is the link to see precious :-) I love her very much and wouldn't trade her for the world.

Overview of Shakeology

My opinions:
I am in love with this drink. I can exchange it for a meal everyday, the best 4 dollars you could spend. I understand it is a little pricey, but after a month of this I continued to buy it because of the awesome ingredients and how healthy it is. I just wish everyone could take advantage of this wonderful product. I only get 1 flavor which is the strawberry and that's simply because I was never a vanilla or strawberry fan and the greenberry is just too much for me as far as the taste.

Pros:
Replace a meal
Feel energize after a while of using product
More than one flavor
Can add anything with this product and still taste awesome
You get a month supply in either individual bags or 1 big bag and scoop
Lose weight with no exercising, just replace with one meal (love that)
Natural ingredients (do not like products with harmful ingredients)
Products ship fast and is received fast
Quality in the packaging is very professional
I find that the big bag as well as the little ones have durable packaging (it can withstand a lot of damage)
Always a discount (message me for more info here

Cons:
The flavor of the Shakeology can be overpowering sometimes (certain fruits are to be avoided. i.e. ones with lots of water)
Wish it was more flavors I liked

Benefits:

Pregnancy: First Trimester

I have checked out some videos on YouTube about pregnancy and trying to wrap my head around becoming a mother sooner than I had planned. I had dreams of becoming a nurse and being married before starting a family. I was actually going to school (I was half way done with school) and working full time, while exercising when I found out. Now that I am pregnant, I decided to put school on hold with the mentality that I WILL GO BACK.
During the first few weeks, there was no changes at all. About 6 or 7 weeks into the pregnancy, I would feel that I couldn't eat without wanting to vomit afterwards. Every time after I ate, my stomach felt nauseous. Other then the nausea, I had no other symptoms. I felt that this was a good thing, to not have so many symptoms like others, but then again for those who didn't have horrible symptoms, had a boy.  We have so many boys in my family so I wanted a girl, but I will love a boy just as much. I am not sure what I am having yet, but I will see this week.

21 Day Fix

I have this wonderful program and I can tell you it is not a joke when they say you will lose a lot of weight in a short amount of time. Me personally, I lost 10 lbs not 15, but lots of inches. I believe that the reason I did not lose that much was simply because I had lot of temptations during that time along with stress. I stand by this product only because I have tried it and still saw results when I did not think it was still possible. It is really easy to follow and not a lot to it. I have not tried a lot of the recipes others are doing and that because I had so much going on in my life I did not want to think about food too much, so I stuck with protein veggies starches and nuts. The workouts were 30 minutes which was AWESOME ( I am telling you there was a lot going on in my life so I was glad for just 30 minutes)!

Pros

  • 30 Minute workouts
  • 10 workout videos = not bored with same video
  • Get a BONUS workout
  • Lose up to 15 lbs in 3 weeks
  • Easy to follow
  • Lots of sweat
  • Charts that help you go through with ease

Cons

  • Since I was very simple with my food sometimes it was the same things all the time
  • This can go either way (pro or con) I find that it's a lot of food to finish in one day

"Someone you know would LOVE to lose 10-15 lbs in the next 3 weeks and actually feel amazing thanks to their fitness, healthy portion control, and daily shake which feeds their body what it's been missing. But today - YES TODAY - is the last day to save a total of $70 on the complete solution. This is it. And if they're not happy with the purchase for ANY reason, they get their money back.
Please, do whatever you can to make sure they don't miss the opportunity to achieve their goals and have the healthiest Halloween of their lives!"

Journey Before Beachbody

I was so ashamed of what I looked like during my first year of college. You know that's the year a lot of people put on a lot of weight. Being away from my mother, I became a rebel. Ate anything I wanted and however much I wanted, even though I was still living with her at the time. I mainly ate what I wanted while I was either at school or before I went back home. I did not care about my weight or my health honestly. I did not think I would get that big. I was 206 lbs in the picture to the right and I believe around 175 lbs on the photo to the left. I was amazed at the progress I had made all by myself. I did not have the support at home, they ate whatever while I was eating a turkey burger. Honestly, the foods I was making were delicious, so I did not miss the fast or the fried foods. After losing all that weight my second year of college I felt I was reborn (cheesy I know), I was never that weight in high school (which was 189). I was on a roll at that point and didn't want to quit. What made me change was my mother. She did not want me to have a lot of health problems and she kept bringing it to my attention to slow down and I wouldn't listen (after all I was in my prime years), but when I couldn't fit into the clothes I wanted to buy then I knew at that point. I had to find my why. Why was I doing this? Why now? Why not wait? Why, why, why? Ultimately it was because since I am at my prime why not lose the weight now instead of when my metabolism slows down and I wanted to fit in certain clothing. Find your why and seek help if you can not do it alone. You do not have to be alone. I have been doing this for 4 years now and after a while I had to seek motivation and I found it from not only myself, but my coach. I am glad I made that decision.

P90 Program

I AM SO EXCITED! AHHHH(can you hear me screaming?)!Tony has done it again. For a limited time, you can become a customer and get this cheaper as opposed to if you would wait until next month. Who knows if it will have this amazing price later? You only have to be a customer or a coach (which gets an even BIGGER discount) to save $70 dollars. P90 is a gateway to getting fit no matter your age or fitness level. The workouts are simple and less extreme, but still effective as all Tony other products. It only takes 90 days, but you start to see results before the end. SEE the video for yourself.  Contact me through E-mail here or Facebook here.

Strawberry Berry Shakeology

This recipe is a staple of mine. I use it more than any other recipe. The reason I use this strawberry and not the vegan one is because it's smoother and the taste surprisingly is different. Also, some of my close relatives have tried it and liked the combination.
Ingredience:
1 cup- Strawberry Kefir
1 serving- Shakeology
1 cup- Mixed Fruit (It has peaches strawberries mango and pineapple)
All you have to do is blend and eat with a spoon. If you like it less thick just to add water.

The recipe is simple that's why I love it so much.
Please let me know what you think about it, or how did you make your strawberry Shakeology below. Thank you
Until next time,

Officially 20 Weeks Pregnant

I have been looking everywhere on advice with pregnancy and its symptoms, since this is my first time going through this. No one told me it would be this hard. I continuously wake up all hours of the night just to get comfortable because I am not a side sleeper. It being my second trimester, I am glad I haven't had any horrible symptoms besides being sleep deprived.
I took this photo while getting ready to start my day, guess I had to take it before doing my hair. Even though I am only half way through, I feel my due date is around the corner. After I find out next week if it is a boy or girl, I will shop like crazy!
Until next time,
